Privacy Policy

Short version: Kurs does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All data stays on your device. The only external requests made are to fetch exchange rates and load flag images.

What data we collect

We collect no personal data whatsoever. Kurs does not have analytics, telemetry, tracking, or any mechanism to identify or monitor users.

What is stored locally

The following data is stored on your device only, using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your device:

Your selected currencies and their display order
The last amount you entered
Your preferred colour theme (dark/light)
Cached exchange rates (to reduce API calls)

You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension or clearing browser storage.

External network requests

Kurs makes two types of outbound requests:

Exchange rates — fetched from open.er-api.com at most once per hour. This is a standard HTTP GET request. No personal data is included.
Flag images — loaded from flagcdn.com as standard image requests. No personal data is included.

Both services are third-party providers. Their own privacy policies apply to requests made to their servers.

Permissions

Kurs requests the following browser permissions:

storage — to save your preferences and cached rates locally
Host access to open.er-api.com and flagcdn.com — to fetch exchange rates and flag images

Kurs does not request access to your browsing history, tabs, cookies, or any other sensitive data.

Children's privacy

Kurs does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is ever updated, the new version will be made available on this page with an updated date. Given that no data is collected, material changes are unlikely.
